He Looks Like Al

You know the saying, If it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, it must be a duck ? Well, then I'm right about my Dad looking like Einstein. Take a look:

So Al has more hair. But close, right?

Don't be alarmed! Yes, Reagan is with my Dad in the hospital, but he is now home, safe and sound. It was a rough week. Actually, a rough few weeks. Poor guy couldn't get a good diagnosis. He was finally admitted on Monday, had his gallbladder taken out, and is now home resting.

We love this brainiac. Reagan and my Dad are kindred spirits when it comes to math, they are both so good at it. He loves to go over the most difficult problems and keep up with the latest in the world of numbers and high school math. Good thing, because there is no way I could help her.

While in the hospital he had to wear compression bandages on his calves. He was talking about the pattern of the compressions and how it would work. Maybe it could be Morse Code?! Then about graphs and charts concerning his stay there. Reagan got such a kick out of it. He has been like this forever. I guess once an Engineer mind, always an Engineer mind.

I will leave you with this:
"Do not worry about your difficulties in Mathematics.
I can assure you mine are still greater."
Albert Einstein

Can I get an Amen?!

Getting started with Al

Einstein Portraits There is something about this man that has been intriguing to me since I was in high school. I'm not really sure how this little love affair started. His hair, always a draw. His mustache, my dad has a mustache. The wrinkles in his face, full of wisdom and experience. In college I had posters of him everywhere. I imagine most girls wouldn't do that, but there was something that drew me to him... and still does.

Yesterday was his birthday ~ Happy Belated Birthday! If he were still alive he would be 134. He was born in 1879 and died in 1955 at the young age of 76.

I am going to take this year to blog using Al as my starting point. Quotes, thoughts, photos. I will incorporate them into my life and maybe I will learn something new from him... maybe you will too.
