A = X + Y + Z

Our week:
  • On Sunday Reagan headed out on a backpacking trip with the high school youth group. We got updates via email and prayed hard that our nail polish wearing girly girl made it safely each day. She's home now... lots of scratches & mosquito bites.
  • On Monday Tennison started golf lessons, followed by a few hours at the pool. That evening he got a new set of clubs. We got the coolest set there, the black and yellow Nike bag. Mr. CU Buff's is stoked!
  • On Wednesday Whitney played sand volleyball to get herself even more ready to play club in the fall. She then went to the pool and had a blast!
  • On Wednesday Tennison and I went on a 7 mile bike ride along Spring Creek Trail. We had a fun lunch out together before golf. He had a baseball game that evening followed by shakes at Sonic. Love summer!!
  • On Thursday Scott started his golf getaway. This year they're staying local, which is great because him and his friend Greg got to take the boys out for wings and the final NBA game. Making memories!
  • On Friday Tennison played in a golf tournament with his new clubs. He won!

If A equals success, then the formula is A equals X plus Y and Z, with X being work, Y play, and Z keeping your mouth shut.
Albert Einstein

With summer comes a whole new schedule. We'd love to think there isn't one, but there is. So while they aren't in school learning everyday, they're still working on their formulas for success.
  • X = hiking, reading your Bible and getting closer to God, taking golf lessons and playing sand volleyball to fine tune your skills.
  • Y = singing around the campfire, playing at the pool, watching movies, bumping the volleyball in the backyard, bike riding Spring Creek Trail, and cracking jokes with your little brother.
  • Z = not saying a word when the laughter is really loud or when someone bugs someone one too many times, or when things aren't on the calendar that should be on the calendar... I'm just saying... shoot, I mean I'm keeping my mouth shut!!
I hope your summer formula is working out great with a lot of X, Y and Z!!

  1. I just can't get over how old the kids look these days!! 5 years plus will do that with kids.
    As far as the library goes ... I feel the same way. That was one of our favorite things to do during summer!! I loved letting Travis and Kate pick out as many books as they want and we'd carry these big piles home and then I'd get to cuddle up with them and read them to them. I miss picture books ...
